Sip your way to bridal radiance with these 5 healthy drinks

Here’s a list of the best bridal drinks to help you get that pre-wedding glow you’ve always wanted.

Every bride wants to look her best on her big day, and while it’s true that skincare and makeup are important, what you’re drinking can also help you achieve that bridal glow.

Lovneet Batra, a nutritionist, recently posted a series of healthy and refreshing drinks on Instagram to help you get that natural glow and look your best on your big day.

Beetroot amla juice

Beetroot is rich in vitamin C, which helps in collagen synthesis, which improves the elasticity of the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines. Amla juice can also help in brightening the skin, giving it a natural glow.

“Beetroot and Amla are rich in Vitamin C,” said Dr Mahima Agrawal, Consultant Dermatology at Fortis Hospital, New Delhi.

The anti-inflammatory properties of amla also help to reduce redness and irritation. Additionally, beetroot helps in liver function, which helps in detoxifying the body and improving the appearance of the skin. “Beetroot amla juice can be a delicious and nourishing way to support the skin,” said Dr Agarwal.

Sugarcane juice with lemon

Sugarcane juice and lemon are rich in antioxidants, which protect your skin from free radicals. They also protect your skin from sun damage and pollution-caused oxidative stress. Lemon’s citric acid exfoliates your skin, which helps in brightening your skin by removing environmental damage. Sugarcane juice also hydrates and naturally moisturise your skin, explains Dr Agarwal.

When used in combination, it supports the body’s detoxification process, which helps in getting rid of toxins that can lead to skin issues. However, Dr. Agarwal suggests that sugarcane juice and lemon should be consumed in moderation as sugarcane juice contains natural sugars and is acidic. “People with diabetes should consult their doctor before making regular consumption of sugarcane juice.”

Green tea with lemon

Antioxidant-rich green tea, particularly catechins, protects the skin by neutralising free radicals and delaying the ageing process. In addition to skin protection, Dr. Agarwal said, green tea stimulates collagen production, improving skin elasticity and reducing fine lines. It also helps reduce redness, swelling, and irritation due to its anti-inflammatory properties.

Yoghourt berry smoothie with raw honey

While probiotics in yoghurt support gut health which is linked to clear skin and fight acne, berries are rich in antioxidants like vitamin C, polyphenols which fight free radicals and protect the skin from oxidative damage and premature signs of ageing.

A combination of berries’ vitamin C, yoghurt’s protein and probiotics helps in fortifying collagen which helps in firm skin and reduces fine lines.

On the other hand, raw honey, which is a naturally occurring humectant, helps in hydrating the skin internally and relieves acne symptoms.

It keeps your skin hydrated, so your skin looks more plump and youthful. It also helps in reducing redness and swelling, as well as irritation. Its detoxifying properties support your body’s natural processes, getting rid of toxins that can cause skin issues. Some research suggests that bamboo compounds may improve collagen production, making your skin more elastic and firm,” says Dr. Agarwal.

These easy-to-drink recipes are all about taking care of your skin from the inside out. “Include them in your wedding day routine for that gorgeous bridal look,” Batra said.
