Innovative Solutions to Alleviate Water Shortage During Navratri Celebrations

Feeling hungry and thirsty during Navratri can lead to dehydration. It is important to consume hydrating foods and drinks throughout the day in order to stay hydrated. Here are some refreshing drink recipes that can help satisfy your thirst.

Every year, the festival of Chaitra Navratri is celebrated from the first day of the bright fortnight of the Chaitra month to the ninth day. During these nine days, nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped. Various dishes are prepared as offerings to the Goddess and many people fast on fruits during this time. After fasting all day, the fast is broken after the evening prayer. It is important to drink enough water and eat properly during this time to avoid dehydration.

During the hot summer days, feeling hungry can drain your energy, especially when also observing the fast for Navratri. Fasting may weaken the body and cause dehydration. Below, we share various recipes that can help replenish your water levels.

In a sizable mixing bowl, place the curd and vigorously whisk until it attains a silky consistency. Gradually introduce chilled water into the mixture while continuing to whisk fervently and stirring without interruption.

Next, incorporate roasted cumin powder, finely diced mint leaves, and a pinch of black pepper to suit your palate preferences.

Allow the concoction to chill in the refrigerator for approximately 30 to 40 minutes. Enjoy this refreshing beverage as an accompaniment to your evening meal.
