Anant Ambani expressed his deep connection to Jamnagar, where he spent his formative years. Last year, Prime Minister Modi expressed concern about the growing trend of couples opting for international destinations for their weddings. In his monthly ‘Man ki Baat’ radio address in November, he highlighted his discomfort with the practice, particularly among “big families,” and called for a shift towards hosting weddings within India. He advocated for a ‘Wed in India’ movement, akin to his ‘Make in India’ campaign, encouraging people to choose domestic venues for their weddings rather than going abroad.

In December, during an investment summit in Dehradun, the Prime Minister urged Indians to consider holding destination weddings in Uttarakhand.

This appeal reportedly influenced actor-couple Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani to choose Goa as the location for their wedding ceremony last week. Despite initially planning for an overseas wedding, they ultimately decided to celebrate their marriage within the country.

Meanwhile, Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant are set to tie the knot in July. The couple is gearing up to host approximately 1,000 guests this weekend at the Reliance Greens Complex in Jamnagar for three days of pre-wedding festivities.
